How to find a good car leasing company

Have you been on the internet to find yourself a great car leasing deal – And now you’re confused because of the amount of leasing companies there are?  Or perhaps you’ve been unlucky by having a bad experience with a car leasing company in the past?

It’s best to be referred a leasing company by someone you know.  But if you don’t know of any, we’d recommend only using a leasing company that is a member of the BVRLA (British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association).

BVRLA members undergo a strict quality assurance inspection - It's not simply a matter of paying membership fees.

If you see the BVRLA logo displayed in a leaflet or on a website, it is your guarantee that you will receive the highest levels of service.  Members also have to operate from an office / commercial premises.

The leasing industry is extremely competitive and as it's not regulated, it's easy to get into.  Unfortunately this means there are some leasing companies out there that don’t operate to a very high standard.

We’d recommend contacting a few leasing companies.  Ask them to send you a quote in writing – don’t just accept one over the phone.  A good leasing company will:

  • Include VAT in personal leasing quotes - many leasing companies don’t show this to make a deal seem cheaper.  Unless you are a VAT registered business, you have to pay it
  • Not enhance the initial payment – this is a common trick used to bring down the monthly payment (making the deal appear cheaper)
  • Let you know on the quote if there are any administration fees

Vesource is a BVRLA member and is committed to offering a quality service that can be relied upon and trusted.  To find other BVRLA members visit www.bvrla.co.uk
